My D3 just passed its Year 6 MOT without so much as an advisory! Thanks everyone. I couldn't have done it without you! I only started doing my own maintenance when I (semi-) retired, late last year. Since then I have:
Replaced tailgate switch/handle;
Cleaned MAF sensor;
Lubricated turbocharger actuator;
Replaced left EGR valve;
Overhauled EPB;
Replaced rear callipers;
Replaced rear pad wear sensor;
Replaced front and rear ARB bushes;
Drilled out and re-tapped under shield bolt;
Had four Pirelli Scorpion ATRs fitted;
Replaced all ARB drop links;
Replaced all flexible brake hoses;
Replaced brake lines on rear wishbones;
Painted front-to-rear brake pipes;
Renewed brake fluid;
Had front discs skimmed;
Replaced front brake pads and wear sensor;
Changed pollen filter;
Changed air filter;
Changed fuel filter;
Changed oil and oil filter;
Drilled out and re-tapped four screws under front bumper;
Diagnosed and fixed front parking sensors and loom.
For the first time in over a year, my D3 is 100% AOK! It's back to averaging 33 mpg and the brakes have never been in such good order! I've spent several £100 on new tools, but saved £1000s on labour! And I'd never have attempted any of it without Disco3.co.uk. So thank you everyone!
Wouldn't it be great, now, if nothing else needed doing until next year's service!? Apart from the timing belt, of course, which I am not attempting myself! 8) Went for a job as a human cannonball. Not the right calibre.

Don't talk yourself out of a job, DM I've got a year to pluck up courage, I suppose. Went for a job as a human cannonball. Not the right calibre.
