What other issues can i expect?

Hi all,

I haven't visited this forum nor posted anything for a while now. However i always feel this forum is brilliant and the experiences shared here are just fantastic.

Anyway, i have a 2006 SE and have owned it now for 4 years or so. And to be fair, as many of us on here, I have a love-hate relationship with my Disco. When the car is in good running order , I love it and it wouldbe the best car i have had! However the many issues i have had with it, have cost me a fortune and a good reason too hate it to bits! But the problem is, I don't...

A few facts then:
Car has 230.000 km - roughly 144.000 miles and is a manual.

I replaced:

3 epb's
Front diff
Main break cylinder (not sure you call it this way in english...excuse my ignorance) - warranty btw
Did the 105k service including belts and pumps
Clutch including flywheel (opted for the heavy duty clutch)
Compressor
All lower arms and bushes
Recently all wheelbearings
New boot cables
New ignition lock (worn out ?!?)
EGR's are blanked with a BAS kit
Replaced the main turbo hose as split
Had rear tailgate strut coming off and had to fix that..

Now, i have the dreaded p123b fault showing permanently and dealer says Turbo is knackered and needs to be replaced...i still hope it is just the actuator stuck as the car drives ok but is sluggish in the lower rpm's.
Unfortunately after my turbo issues, i als got the upper tailgate that won't open. Had a look at that and found the cable to be broken...but on the lock side instead of the actuator side...grrr.

Anyway, i am tempted to get it fixed, but i also am at the stage where i become hesitant too keep it. I already spent a fortune on it....

What other major costs can i expect, or what are the most known issues i haven't had yet?

Any comments are appreciated....

Thanks,

Erwin

Air conditioning system can be expensive to fix - quite a few on here have had problems.....

I have also had the turbo fault code you mention. Actuator lubricated and amongst other things replaced battery which seemed to resolve the problem for 6 months or so. Recently turbo code re-appeared & car went into limp mode. Cleared the faults with iid tool & all has been well for 4 days.

If I were you I wouldn't rush in to replace the turbo but ultimately may be necessary........ Big Cry

Thumbs Up

My key fob battery went. That was a royal pain. Drive shaft rounded off as well in the south of France whilst towing the van but I don't think this is a common one!
