Side steps VTK500010/VPLAP0035 genuine or not?
Hello,
I need some side step advise, I see there are a lot of genuine and 'style' side steps on the market, could someone tell me how I can confirm what to look for on a genuine set.
Thanks in advance,
Mat

Some on ebay for 110 pounds that quite a few on here have fitted, a search should find them.

I've found both on the internet which is why I want to confirm the differences between the two and where I can find the markings that make genuine parts genuine.

Having fitted lots of both sets, there is no distinguishable difference in quality between them.
The brackets appear to be the same.
The aluminium trims fall off them both

Hi,
I put on side steps in oem style and removed the chrome tubes which had a sticker next to bracket to say landrover with part number. Not sure about step version though.

Thanks for the picture, at least I will know what the label looks like.
I just bought a genuine set from a Land Rover dealer for £510 delivered, felt the new wheels deserved the genuine item
I for one do feel there is a difference in quality having replace the genuine steps for aftermarket on the old D3.

Am I right in thinking OEM quality steps are fitted with genuine rubbers?!

You can replace them every 3 years, and still be cheaper than buying genuine.
Are you listening, JLR?
Replacing them every three years is about what I have done.
