1000 miles in 8 days? Pah, did that in less than 24hours coming back from Poland - and a total of something like 2700miles in 9days.
But agree it was a nice place to be Mark.

We did 5000 miles around Europe last year over 3 weeks. This was fully loaded carrying 5 people and 11 people's kit. She didn't put a foot wrong. Including some steep work in the Slovakian Tatras at 30 deg plus. Lovely and comfy. D3 HSE TDV6 Auto. Bonatti Grey.

I was on 4x4 Response stand-by over the weekend and had a shout on Friday to go and support the Car Fest South gig near Basingstoke. We all rocked up in different models of 4x4 but the majority are Land Rovers. Mine was the only D3… with AT tyres on it stood up well to the day’s activities. I pulled several 4T-4.5T mobile homes and 4 car/caravan combos with no effort. The Sunday was my made even better by meeting and working with an LR experience Instructor who had a hand in the design of the D3 traction control system. I will differently be booking a day out on the training days to really see what can be done with our chosen vehicles.
The day was topped off by “Tim” showing me that my MY06 D3 was built with the rear locking diff and how it works…Huggs.

If you put on the 4x4 screen and the centre and rear diff locks go red.
You have a locking diff.
Or have a look under the car, there is a picture somewhere showing the differences between a locking and non locking diff.
It's a decent bonus to find you have one! Wish mine had one.
They are a great car, but they aren't cheap to run and keep in top fettle..

We towed the caravan from South Coast to Scotland and toured for three weeks. 3,000 miles in total. D3 never missed a beat. It is not over 160k miles. I still think prentatative maintenance helps. And changing fluids before they are due.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.
