I picked up my sliders yesterday just spent the last couple of hours fitting them and i think there alright. Not going to be to everyones liking. They dont stick out much at all. There are pretty solid bit of kit. I got a issue with the fittings they suppled which they are sorting out. You need to remove the bottom door seal as it rubs i have only fitted the top bolts at the moment becuase they didnt send the bottom ones. But here are a few pics i will put some more up in a bit.

Sorry didnt wash it before going to get it a bit more dirty now.
Any question or if you want some more pics let me know

They don't stick out much, what are they protecting? Have they given you flat washers and bolts?

These are similar to the ones bearmach had on their stand at the weekend. Didn't stick out far at all! I did like the flat infill they had on theirs as a foot payee though.
As an aside did any one see the metal front bumper for about 600 on the stand.
Any thoughts? Apparently both are made by ajs?
Upgrades so far - , rear ladder from prospeed , front and rear light guards G4 style roof rack and 4 lightforce spots on the rack! Xenon lights

No they dont stick out far at all. They are more a rock slider then a tree slider. Not much protection

I'm not sure what benefit that design offers. As already said, more of a rounded rock protector than tree sliders.

Seems the tree bar bit starts quite late behind the front wheel too.

So, went along to see Carl after work today. Thoroughly nice chap, and has a good amount of experience in sheet metal work.

The sliders looked to be of good quality for the price. The welds appeared to be fairly consistent and neat. Materials were as earlier a stated, 4mm plate an 3mm wall tube. He has used mild steel for construction, comensurate with the cost. Powder coating was well applied and even. The choice of mild steel will mean that corrosion will be a problem later if scrapes are not treated regularly.

There are two detrimental points.

1. The tubes do not protrude far enough to protect the doors from careless opening of car doors.

2. More importantly, the bottom seal strip on the doors stands off by about 5mm at the extremities, and about 10mm in the middle. Whilst these strips are not part of the wading seal system around the door opening itself, i believe that this will allow salt spray in winter to enter under the door more than it should.

I also suggested that he lengthen the tubes as far as possible.

Carl is aware of these points and is giving thought to how he can change the design to address them.

As for me, I'm going the hang on and see what he comes up with.

Thanks for doing that. Thumbs Up the key thing for me is to have them protrude sufficiently from the doors. Is he looking at doing this as well as other possible tweeks?

That's what he said. Could take a few weeks to turn up. It may also be that he gets different feedback at Peterborough and decides to carry on as-is.

Madrilleon have you had anymore feed back from the chap yet, has he produced another bigger set?
