Good for another year, thanks to West 4x4 |
|
My D3 was in for its 90k mile service and MoT yesterday.
Took it to the Land Rover specialists that I've been using for the last few years; West 4x4 in Waltham Chase. As well as the 90k service, I gave him a list of other small jobs I wanted doing including:
- Enable (in the CCF) the xenon headlamps I bought off forum member, Donny
- Check the alignment of the headlamps and adjust as necessary
- Inspect front and rear ARB bushes to make sure I fitted them properly!
- Inspect front and rear suspension arm bushes and report on condition
- Inspect brake pipes and report on condition
- Inspect front diff as I thought I could see a very slight oil leak coming from the NS oil seal
Breezed through the MoT with no advisories
The only thing Mark found wrong with my D3 was that the water pump was weeping ever so slightly (highlighted by a dried dusty-pinkish dye on top of the steering rack). No problem there - will keep an eye on the coolant level and replace the pump if it gets any worse.
Over the next year I plan to:
- Front and rear diff oil services
- Manual gearbox oil change
- Upgrade rear discs to V8s (already done the fronts)
- Treat it to a new smoooooooooth steering wheel (heated would be nice!)
- Complete my HIDS4U LED upgrades
- BAS Remap
- BAS Silicone Intercooler Hose (when the OEM one fails)
- Some 19" HSE alloys would be nice
If you're looking for a reliable Land Rover Specialist in South East Hampshire - and are prepared to book a month in advance - I highly recommend West 4x4. I know Nigel (NJSS) has used them for years and also rates them very highly.
There really isn't much that Mark West doesn't know about Land Rovers.

Mark really knows his stuff and has saved me a fortune over the last three years.
This is because every time I need something doing that I don't want to do myself for one reason or another I've developed the strategy where I call Mark and ask him if he can sort it out for me.
He always says No, as he can't touch it for a month, so I end up doing it myself anyway and saving my money.
Thanks Mark
Nasher. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

"There really isn't much that Mark West doesn't know about Land Rovers"
No question about that statement - Mark has looked after my Range Rovers & Discoveries for more years than I can remember.
He is busy, so you need to book scheduled work well in advance.
I like his new premises...
