MOT Today - WARNING - Check your expiry date |
|
Just had my D3 MOTed today. Happily, it went through with no advisories. However, when I checked the expiry date, it was incorrect.
The old MOT, which I had checked on line, was due to run out on the 15th of October; so I could get it in for a test any time after the 16th of Spetember and still preserve the anniversary. However, when I checked my new certificate, the expiry date was listed as 20th September 2016 (yesterday) instead of 15th October 2016.
I called DVSA to check this. I was told that they have a new computer system, and some of the records 'have not transferred across properly'. The gentleman I spoke to then went on to ask that I keep an eye on the on-line MOT expiry date, and if it had not been correctly updated within a month, to call them back.
If you have had an MOT in the last few months, or are due to have one I would check the expiry date on-line and on the certificate itself. There are two rules for success,
1. Never tell everything you know.
