Detango D4 Headlights
Looking at my car today, I decided that I don't really like the orange strip on the side of the headlights. Is there a way of removing it or changing the reflector with a clear one?
Not sure if its been done before.D4 HSE all the way

None yet, I do have one to play with though, and Bodsy should get his hands on a broken one soon to see if the glue is thermoplastic the same, other than that they are screw assembled the same, just don't seem as robust though Altox GSM FBH controller thread

It's all bolted up you say. So the challenge is once in, how best to remove the reflector. Right?D4 HSE all the way

I remember when I first starting get supplies of these and the halogen ones didn't have the fairy lights installed - looked at opening up but it was difficult but can't remember why

Anyone done this yet on a D4 headlight? I've got one that I'm wanting to detango from the MY 2014 style, the lens is cracked at the bottom but is still usable. Was thinking of repairing the lens (assuming the lens can't be bought separately from LR or elsewhere) and while doing so removing the amber lens.
If there is a thread or post somewhere that has any info on this I'd appreciate any assistance finding it, as I've tried searching with various keywords and can't seem to find anything.
If it hasn't been done I will attempt it myself and be sure to take a lot of pictures to document the process for others.

I ended up tearing the one apart that I got for a good deal (had a cracked lens that needed repairing anyway). It's definitely one of the more difficult types of lights to separate. I ended up cutting it up a bit, but if someone were extremely patient and had a lot of time it might be possible to do without cutting it up. It would be extremely slow and honestly take more time than I personally would spend on it.
I also got a full set in perfectly good condition recently purchased so I'm just going to use them for now.
