Just remind them that although the purchase cost is falling, the maintainence costs don't suddenly reduce with it, so bear that in mind. Thats a fair point and one which I am sure most are aware of, probably still the the main thing deterring people from what is a brilliant vehicle. Andy
Been looking at the best way to carry bikes and tow the wagon. I am using a removable tow bar so a towbar mounted one is out. Picked up some genuine LR roof cross bars for a good price on Ebay. Just need to decide which cycle carrier to go with them now. Looking at a Elite san remo race lock as it looks a neat carrier and I like the idea of mounting using the fork dropouts.Andy
I have been missing all my music on my ipod and my bluetooth handsfree for the mobile phone so have been looking into the options. I spotted the Parrot Asteroid tablet for a reasonable price and it seems to tick all the boxes that I required plus some bonus extras. So the purchase was made. I spent the day fitting it on Monday. The cables and connectors for the ISO interface are a bit bulky and the control box for the Parrot itself is quite large so there was some careful manipulation to get everything in place. I ended up routing the cables down behind the drivers side of the H trim and attaching the control box in the drivers footwell. I then used some self adhesive velcro to stick it to the trim to the side of the steering column. I checked it did not interfere with the movement of the steering column before final positioning.
By using velcro I can easily remove the control box to add another USB device if I need to.
I routed the usb cables for the ipod and the USB behind the heater control panel and into the rear of the top glovebox. They are just long enough. The cable to the tablet itself was routed with the usb cables and then into the rear of the centre cubby in the dash where I have mounted the sticky base for the suction mount. I have been inspired by the Garmin satnav into a D4 surround so I have ordered the surround to see if its possible to fit the Parrot in a similar way. Anyway very pleased with the tablet so far.
Got a D4 nav surround from Dan@Duckworths last week and spent a couple of afternoons fettling it to fit. Very pleased with the factory look.

I have also been playing about and have managed to sideload the Viewranger app and all my 1:25000 scale map tiles, so I now have good O.S. mapping for greenlaning.

Looks good Andy! I am just about to do exactly the same, just waiting for the correct leads for my Asteroid Tablet and need to get a D4 surround. Pleased that you can sideload viewranger, I have it on my phone and on an old Blackberry Playbook and it's great! Dave Neil

Thanks Dave, I like viewranger a lot and it works well on the asteroid, but you have to groud the extra parking brake wire to use it while moving for some reason.Andy
Nipped out for a days laning to check some lanes for an upcoming laning day with the D2 Boys club. All was good and the D3 was brilliant even on road tyres. Only one small misshap on the last lane of the day when I got my line wrong over a large rock and my stainless side tube took the full weight of the D3. Luckily the only damage is a bent bracket and a piece of plastic trim popped out due to the side tube pushing up on it. will have to remove the tube to strighten the bracket as I can't get my feet onto it to jump up and down.
Please excuse this slightly tangental question - I've just bought an 06 that's almost identical to yours, seller said it was the base model - but from what I've read the base has coils, mine has air and terrain response, no touch screen or any of that other fancy nonsense.
Pursuit was a limited edition. It has a Pursuit badge on the tailgate, leather seats, body coloured wheel arch trim and bumpers and HSE 19inch wheels. So looking at the pics of yours I would say not.Andy
Bought a set of 17 inch wheels from Disco-nut on here to use for laning. So yesterday I had some Cooper Discoverer AT3's fitted to them. I swapped them over this morning and then gave her a wash and Polish all ready for getting her dirty on some Peak District lanes tomorrow.
