Quick question regarding your DRL's Mikey........where did you pick up the ignition live?
And if you were me would you wire them onto the auxiliary battery or just the main one?

I wired my switched live into the blanked plug behind the grill, I think it's for a sensor (air quality?) in some markets, but unused on my car.
But, in use it doesn't seem to always come on and they lights always stay on for a couple of minutes after switching off. So I'm considering finding another source.

Didn't fancy having a go at fitting them yourself Alan?
Dodge that sensor then JMack?!
I could go and look for one myself..........but it's so much easier when someone else has already done the thinking for you!!
I saw a post on here where someone used negative spacers to set the light further back to avoid trimming the surround........wasn't yours was it JMack?

I use the pollution sensor on mine, works fine, mind doesn't switch off in use
Lights up when the car is unlocked, and stays on for 2 mins after switching off
There are many ignition lives to pick up in the engine bay, just depends how neat and tidy you want to keep things My D3 Build Thread

I would rather the lights to come on with the engine, where would you suggest I look first? Engine fuse box? Also would you use main batt or auxiliary?

Battery choice won't make a difference, they will still illuminate at 8v My D3 Build Thread

As Mikey says he uses the sensor and has no problems.
I have DRL controller wired into the indicators as well for cornering lights, not sure if Mike does and whether that makes any difference. Mine, certainly on first use, don't come on instantly, maybe a few seconds after starting the engine. And anytime they don't come on a brief flash of the hazard lights brings them on, so as I say that might be an issue with the indicator wiring. I'll maybe get round to disconnecting that bit and see how they work then...I'd prefer if they went off with the engine as well rather than staying on for the couple of minutes.
No negative spacers for me, I trimmed the removable surround and trimmed a few mm of that with a pair of aviation snips.
