Spot lamps loose ?

Just polished the car and noticed that the spotlamps were really loose. They seem to be on a knuckle and that seems loose, any 'quick' fixes or is it a ball ache Whistle
D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

I had the same prob. After a drive on corrugated roads My D3 would look, from the front, to have crossed eyes.
There is a disc at the back of the light that has to be turned to tighten the light up. You need to contort your body around the A frame and get a large flat screwdriver into the groves around the edge of the disc and push to tighten about 1/16th of a turn each time.
Watch your hands as London to a brick You will skin your knuckles.
Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.

I took off the junk 55w and replaced em with the 110w Hella 4000s.

Well, if your talking about what I think you're talking about, then I think you'll find a medium-sized philips screwdriver pushed through the hole behind the green ovals will do a great job of tightening up that disc and doesn't require any contortion whatsoever Confused

Line up the lights, then take the screws out and remove the glass from the case. You will see a 10mm nut, give it a good ol' wrench and they wont come loose again.

Or... you could man up and get a badass pair of Hella 4000s like mine. I took off the junk 55w and replaced em with the 110w Hella 4000s. Looks good on the car and as my friends say daytime at night.

What does 'man up mean'......I have some 'badass' Hella 3000 blue's in a box in the garage but if I am replacing the lamps (which I am not) it would be lightforce's or PIAA's......Hella's just ain't badass enough.

Also how can you say 'man up' with a licence plate that says VIRGINia on it Laughing

I love my Hellas. They're built wonderfully and in the US Hella is known as a great lighting company.

Also, if you haven't noticed I do live in the Commonwealth of Virginia. And here's a little history for you about where Virginia came from. In 1607, the British... formed the colony and was named after one of YOUR former queens, "The Virgin Queen" Elizabeth I. Then in 1788 Virginia was ratified into it's own Commonwealth/State. The 10th state decided to keep the name in respect or perhaps it was contempt?

PS. Not sure if you noticed but... the plate is from the university where I attend. Perhaps you've heard of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. VA.

So as I sip on my New Castle, I'm proud of my British heritage, but I'd damn proud to be an American from Virginia.

Cheers!

Having only visited the UK once in my life this far, I often forget that many of our American phrases don't exist in the UK form of English. This being said... consider it a free lesson in American culture. Wink

UK form of English?? The language is English, comes from England!!! Not American, although our delighful government seems to feel that we might be better off joining the Union!! Wink Wink

If you want badass try the Hella 4000 Compact Xenon, makes anything with a halogen bulb in look like a fag but! And they draw less than 2 amps each.

These are the ballast chokes..
