BMS reset
Is it possible to reset this with the IID tool? I've had the battery disconnected and recharged it with my ctek in reconditioning mode. The battery is showing 12.86v using a Fluke but the estimated state of charge according to the IID tool is 66% with a 1amp charging current?Club Exped trailer

Great tip. Need to reset my BMS as well after changing battery. Shows to low value and doesn't seem to accept charging as it should.

Nope. Can't get it to work. Did both the battery reset and the car reset. I still warns me and shows 12.0V on the instrument display even though the battery is at 12.7V.
I've tried to disconnect the minus lead and wait for a bit, reconnect and the tried it via the OBD-tool. But no. Still the same result. I really have no idea what to do, other than to go to the dealership and have them reset it for me.

Yes just do a full car reset from the menu.

That won't work Mick, it has to be via the BCM menu.

I've got a 12v ciggie lighter in the D4 now and was watching it on last reasonable length trip. It started with voltage much like the D3 does but after a 180 miles or so the ciggie display was showing 12.7V. OK, it's plus 1/2v in reality (checking ciggie lighter readout vs battery terminals with a DMM) but never seen it that low in a few years of watching the same in the D3. Is that the D4 thinking the battery is full and just more efficient at running the car?

I've found on both my D4's, the voltage will change between about 12.0 to 14.7v depending on the state of charge of the battery. Also, if you take your foot off the loud pedal, the voltage will rise - it's all part of the energy recovery software D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Are you really supposed to reset the BMS when you are charging the old battery? Is it not for when a new battery is fitted?

Only with new Battery. At charging minus of the charger has to be connected at ground of the body. NEVER at the direkt pole of the battery.Discovery 4/LR4 HSE 5.0 V8 MY2010 // Volvo XC60 II T8 Inscription Fusion Red MY2020 // Hyundai Kona Electric Trend MY2020 // Bürstner TravelVan 620G MY2020

Sorry for not updating you guys. I went to an JLR-authorized garage and the reset the BMS. And they did it free of charge and checked my software for updates. If you ever need job done by a fully equipped garage in Sweden use Autoropa. They are outstanding.
Oh, the result? Works like charm now. 😉
Conclusions:
1: Update BMS when changing battery. It's not always needed, but in my case it was. Probably because the old battery was completly busted.
2: Don't trust the GAP-tool. It doesn't show percentage of battery charge but rather the voltage under load. I get 12.7 when measuring on the battery but the GAP says like 70 percent. Useless as monitor. To it's defence the voltage on a battery in a D4 should be measures with the ground disconnected to get correct voltage (or with the vehcile in complete resting mode).
3. If everything works. Leave it alone.
This said I will install a secondary battery. Just in case.
