DVD Audio and vehicle Audio system |
|
I am due for a 1st service soon and I have a couple of warranty jobs I need fixing, however, before I make a prat of myself asking for something to be fixed I need to know the answer to this:
I have the factory fit Rosen DVD system plus the Audio Connectivity Module.
In the handbook for the DVD system (page 14) it states that you can play the DVD audio through the vehicle speakers by selecting 'speakers enabled' and setting the AUX input on the audio system. On mine this does not happen
I also checked the ACM handbook and this states (page 7) that you can switch betwen the iPod and DVD player by using the auxillary input bypass switch set to bypass for DVD audio. This also does not happen probably because the above doesn't work.
Can anyone confirm they are able to hear DVD audio via the audio system on AUX?
I reported this to my local dealer when it went in for a problem in early July but was told by them (Str*****ne) that "it isn't available and it didn't apply" - whatever that was meant to mean! When further questioned they said the manuals were incorrect
I've also checked a few previous threads on here and haven't found a definative result.
TIA

Yep, set the dvd player to 'speaker' setting, switch to Aux, and you get to listen to Shrek
You do have to have someting plugged into the AUX socket in the rear though (either a blanking pin or headphones). Disco 5 HSE Lux

It's on the back of the centre console, beside the 12V socket.
You might have more in yours as you've got the HSE - I don't have the ones on the rear doors/in the boot. Not sure if these are AUX sockets, or headphone sockets, but presume they are AUX ones? Someone in the know will know Disco 5 HSE Lux

Plugged in some old headphones and Hey it works
Nothing in the manual about it AFAICS

And once again, a certain dealer chain can't deal with a small post-sales issue that requires either a little knowledge, a little digging or a 'phone call. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
