Front spot lamps not working |
|
Hi all, thanks in advance for any help you
may be able to give me..... I have LR front bumper mounted spot lamp kit fitted to my D3 with the genuine switch in the cab, the light on the switch comes on when pressed in but there’s no power to the relay and then non down the lamps themselves, before I start cable chasing etc.....is there anything I am obviously overlooking?
Thanks

Firstly, as has been said - no power at the relay usually is a fuse or broken wire. You are pulling the switch control out to turn the fog lights on

Thanks for the reply. I’ll have to chase wires....I cannot find a specific fuse for these spots and have checked every fuse in the boxes. I’ve attached photos of the spot lights (not fogs) and the switch you push in on the dash.....once this switch is in the spots should come on with the main beam
Thanks

So these are additional to the fog lights. You will need to chase wires

Assuming they worked before! Fuse for the relay is F19 in the engine bay fusebox and also fusible link 17E which I would check first. Could have blown if water/moisture has gotten into the lamp wiring or it has rubbed through some where between the relay and the lights. If the switch is lighting up then that side of it should be ok. If fuse is ok then perhaps try another relay to see if it is faulty. Remember that if wired properly they will only work when main beam is on. Good luck!
