Thought I'd share my story
Our Subaru Forester 2007 automatic just wasn't cutting it anymore.. I get bored to death driving it!
I've been contemplating buying a Disco3 for months, waiting for the perfect one. You know how it is.
And a couple of weeks ago I found her and brought her home!
Just in time for 50 cm (atleast) of snow here at home. Oh the joy!
Anyway, picturetime.
After I've signed the papers, getting to know her a little more before starting the 15-hour journey home:

After driving a couple of km, I noticed some juddering from the transmission. Noticable mostly in 5th and 6th gear with an rpm from 1500-1900-ish. I've read this forum about that problem. I crossed my fingers a flush was enough. So yesterday I got the transmission fully flushed with about 10 liters of oil. I asked the mechanic to take some pictures before and after the flush:

She's rolled 120000km btw.
And what a difference! Not only has the judder gone, but the shifts seems to have become alot smoother too. Generally feels a lot less constrained. Thumbs up! I also ordered up some Dr Tranny stuff, just in case. This shouldn't really be necessary now right? If the judders come back I'll try it..
And then there was the webasto ! I tried to dismantle and clean the damn thing, twice. To no avail. In -18C too! My fingers and toes just about fell of standing there prodding and swearing for hours. After two days of mounting/dismounting the thing, my battery was shot too.. My bad
But a couple a days ago, I got my KKL 409 cable (took a while to arrive) and some wires to make up my diagnosics loom. I hooked it up, deleted the faults, and presto! It's came to life without any flameout or anything. The previous cleaning/TLC probably helped a lot. I also have the 1533-timer, so this morning the engine/coolant was good and warm when I got in, with the temperature approx. -6C. 8)

Anyway, decided to share my story. Got tons of useful information by lurking this forum for a couple of months. Wanted to give some back!

Putting up for sale as we speak!!
I cant see any mention of a "oil pump casing" on the servicelog for the belt-replacement service. I've sent a request to the stealers that did that job last year.
Looks like the VIN is SALLAAA648A470641, guess it might be one of those with the crappy ones?

Good sense of humour is very much needed with D3 ownership.
Its extremely unlikely the stealer has changed it as LR flatly refuse to accept there is a problem.
Get it done asap.

If it hasn't been changed my opinion is that it should be.
Mine was done, early, a few months ago; no apparent problems with the old one, but I sleep more soundly now.

I agree. I'll try and lure a minicamera down there with a light to see if I can spot which one it is.
The stealers just replied: "According to the VIN, your car does not have a record of having a weak oil pump".
This is a different part entirely, right?
