Make sure that on the allen key adjuster bolt on the shoe has the wedged shape adjuster fully in the off position, it's where the fulcrum lever connects both shoe's when the epb is applied.
If this is not fully backed off you will not get the disc on.

Thanks Chaps
In my mad rush to try and get this job done today I didn't use the correct sequence to turn the EPB off! Not sure if this makes a difference or not so I did the sequence and the IIDTool unjam procedure just for good measure!
After doing that and a bit more jiggling I was then able to fit the new disc on, it was still a squeeze but went on all the same. I have adjusted them and done the bedding in procedure and so far it seems fine........famous last words!

May have to double check this as when adjusting the EPB the one side undid 8 clicks as the Bible says but the side I had to fight with only undid 7 clicks until the adjuster was at max open

That'll be the L shaped wedge adjuster not seated as far back as it should be. I've seen this on far too many aftermarket shoes. Having said that, I've also seen it not able to back far enough on a LR shoe set as well.Bodsys Brake Bible

Do you mean it needs adjusting or is it a manufacturing fault?!
Top job on the bible

Mmm.......
I'd go for the fine fettling approach....
Well the wedge doesn't seem to stay in place as tight as it should do.its also possible that some paint build up is stopping it from going back further.Bodsys Brake Bible
