United Kingdom 2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Tonga GreenDiscovery 3

Hi scraig, actually Kloof and upper highway is full of D4 it is proper yummy Mummy town, That said Toyotas outrank by a large margin.

Part of this trip was to prove That the D3 is a proper off road vehicle, My D3 has done some serious off roading but in controlled conditions, As mentioned D3,s just do not appear in the wilderness, Two nights ago I met a photographer who has travelled Southern Africa in Lada Riva which he swears by but he can no longer source spares. He now has a 16 year old Toyotas Land Cruiser that left him stranded in a dry riverbed for 3 days and had to be towed 200 miles to get it fixed.. it was the ECU that had failed.

On another note just worked the overall fuel consumption @ 23.95 mpg not bad for 60kgs of brick on the roof and 150kgs of tools and supplies.

Starting the return trip tomorrow keep you all posted.
Owning a Discovery 3 is like dating a model.. a firm body and shape, wow.. the ride is fantastic >Very Happy for this your wallet can take a pounding and you worry about being deflated at any time...

Just for the record, there is a dealer in Walvis bay too, who were very helpful after I ripped my brake lines out in a rocky river bed.

Thanks Zac, currently in Swakop so this is an option, however I think the poorly suspension will get us back as we are now 700kms on from when it failed, it is just extended and a little bouncny.

Again thanks for considering the option for us.. Bing bongs back to Durban all the way!
