many thks for the pic

been trying to get my head round everything Laughing , etc i.e. where to make the connection for the solar panels,

i.e. direct to the battery or through the trailer socket, but know that's got to be altered for perm live

thinking of the following

getting a 30-40 watt solar panel, connect it directly to the battery or through the trailer socket , also installing a regulator ,

so that when i don't use the disco for a few weeks will keep the main battery topped up

then later buy a deep cell aux battery , fitting the split charge , being able to use the aux battery if the main battery goes flat


trouble is i don't know how any of the wiring goes, been trying to find it via the search

Panel outputs to solar controller, outputs from controller to battery terminals Thumbs Up

On myD4 I have a Yellow top in the second battery box, the solar controller is connected to this via a split charge relay, so engine running tops up YT, parked up Solar does Thumbs Up Altox GSM FBH controller thread

that's very helpful and most appreciated

at least i now know it can be done, along with having the engine running without disconnecting the solar panels all the time


may i be cheeky and ask if u have any links plse , i.e. where the best place is to buy the bits , web page shop

so ref solar wattage it doesn't really matter going 70-80 watts as longer as the protector is there , suitable wire sizing etc

is making a lot more sense and thank u Bow down Bow down
