here in Australia they lower by 2cm at 160 KMH and maintain the lowered setting until speed decreases to 140 (I think) AND it stays below 140 for a period of time that I can't remember.
Hang on, will nip out and test it, be right back....... ... . .... . . . . . regards

In the US, the LR3 does NOT lower at any high speed - according to shop foreman at Seattle dealer. It's not in any of the literature either for US models.
However the FFRR does. 96 Disco I, 200,000 miles

All D3's should lower once you exceed 160kpm. Some other points about shortened rods:
The car will still automatically raise/lower at the normal speed points - the only difference is that you're higher.
At the "new" access height, the ride is equivalent to that of a std car's "normal" height, due to extra air in the bags - but it will still force a rise if you exceed the set speeds for "access".
On-road handling at the new "normal" height is quite adequate, as long as you're not trying to keep up with an F1 driver.
Be _very_ careful trying to engage "super extended" mode - I've tried it twice out on the tracks and both times had a suspension error and the car back down to the bump stops. 1/2hr of winching to get me out so that I could reset the links
At that setting (on my car) the compressor continually runs until it shuts off.

When super extended mode kicked in and the system shut down what happened when you tried to re-start the engine? That should have rebooted everything and bring you back to "normal" hight. If not it could be a major issue as super extended mode will engage automatically when the truck is high-sided. I am considering this mod but if you can't reset after this failure you could be left on the trail or seriously damage your rig.

Disco4x4Au.
Some d3Ownwers have reported something similar to what you have exp`ained with shortened rods.... Apparently the car low-down to bumper heigh in the middle of Africa and ther's no way to reset if yo can't reach a "first world" LR dealer with computer-connexion?
This effect occurs apparently after a "jump" when wheels don't touch the land.... could be similar a "super extended mode"....then...the car lows down!.
1) Does anybody heard about it?
2) Do you know how to reset the car?
3) Is it possible that with shortened rods ...super extended or "junps" makes that sensors report "out of range" situation.
4) Is it possible to fit other parameters in the computer to avoid this situation?
Any comment ot suggestion....
Thanks Nacho

In answer to :
3) If you mess it will frack up
4) Yes if you have lots of money for the Maztec 'solution' for over driving the suspension system.

Someone else had an issue with the rods causing supension faults but they reset themselves. Once you lower the supension back to access it sould read the suspension in range and reset. I think shortening beyond 10mm will cause problems.
I agree with Nash it would be due to the suspension drop when a wheel drops. The shortened rod will take the sensor outside of its reading range and log a fault.
Doing a hard reset would be something I would try first though. Getting there is half the fun

CarverD3;
1) What is a "hard reset" and how is done?. Can be done"in the middle of the dessert?
If all this situation persist...is Maertrzk the only relyable situation to manage the heighth?
best regards. Nacho

No, "super-extended" is not automatically selected by the car (that's "extended") - I'm talking about the extra height from holding the brake pedal and re-selecting the "high" setting, that gets you about 40mm above extended profile. So it's not a state that the car could get into by itself.
In my case, a hard reset may well have fixed the car - but I simply swapped the rods around and restarted and all was well.

Gordon,
Did you carry out the suspension mods yourself? Do you know anyone in perth that would carry out the work and the effect it would have on warranty.
Cheers

If you get a suspension failure make sure you put the standard rods back on. ....................................................................................quick. Getting there is half the fun
