Car insurance have said if we do claim we lose our NCB (note to self to pay the extra to protect it in the future) and of course have to pay the excess as they cannot reclaim the loss from anyone. Still trying to work out the point of insurance.
The car went to a Land Rover approved bodyshop yesterday and I await the bill. Very strangely we found some blue flecks of paint on the roof, sunroof and roof rails. Those certainly were not there on Monday when we spotted the dent on the roof. The car was parked in London on Monday night and then to Portsmouth Tuesday morning with a brief stopover at a service station on route. Can't work out if someone flicked paint on the roof (but then you'd expect to see some on the side of the car as it is so high) or if there was some sort of blue paint at the service station but again can't work out why.
