Finally, the chromed amber repeater bulbs arrived so I quickly installed them in the headlamps and refitted the outer brackets and put it all back in the car, about 15 minutes work overall.
Looks so much nicer. If you are thinking about this mod, just do it, there's not much to go wrong if at all.

Very nice looking front end there RRUK. So much so, i think i need to get a new grey/black grill - it looks just right on Stornaway grey.

I agree, looks really good with the black and grey, think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and finally de-tango my lights, looks a lot newer

Thanks for the comments. I had to make my own grille colour combo as the one sold by Powerful uk was just grey and black, not Stornoway. It's easier to get a decent gloss black finish at home than the metallic I think.
Tomorrow I'm taking the alloys and tyres to be built up, they will get fitted some time next week.
Really chuffed that I can fit all four alloys in boxes on the back seat with no issues, and four tyres standing up side by side in the boot. No need for the trailer after all!1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

Good idea with the grille, I looked at the same one which was black and satin grey, looks much better colour coded with the Stornaway. Post more picks when you get your wheels on.

The alloys and tyres are with the tyre man now being built up, I may be fetching them today so I can fit them over the bank holiday, we will see.
Thinking of having the HSE alloys done in the same metallic anthracite, so I can either have a set of spring summer wheels with Pirelli Scorpions on or, depending on how much I love the new wheels and tyres I may sell them on, in as-new condition. They would look fantastic, much better than the cheap gloss black or satin black ones you see on eBag. They would sell in minutes, especially as they have 4 good matching tyres.
I've seen satin black ones second hand with damage going for £800 with rubbish tyres 1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

Got the wheels back and couldn't wait to fit them. Put the spacers on that are needed for these RR alloys but WOW, they look SO good in the flesh. I don't think these photos out across how great they look. So chuffed.
