There was some talk about setting a couple of channels that weren't encrypted, for those with bog standard 'walkie talkie' type radios instead of channel/subchannel radios.
Not bother for myself with some lovely Entels that'll come blasting over the top of the cheapies.... _________________ TDV6 HSE Black, Black Wheels /MTR's, Black RRS front/rear LR badge (tbf) Black Leather, Black Glass, Black TowB, Shiny Tasmods, Dull Mantec, White Reflective D3 Sticker, Black steering wheel badge, black air intake.

Is it worth making either this list or Andrew's "Sticky"? _________________ Don't Panic! Everything will be fine.... inflation is only 2.5% and the flying pigs are carbon neutral

Thanks Simon,
Yes it looks like AndrewS and Duncster came to the same conclusion on another occasion.
I don't think the Kenwoods offer any non-encrypted channels so I would prefer we stick to the list above.
I doubt anyone will bring radios that don't do sub-channels. If they do, I've got four little motorolas that do subchannels they can borrow. There always seems to be an excess of spare radios whenever we meet up.
I doubt we'll run short.

For Tong, myself and the other marshals will be using CB. I know very little about radios but can CB and these PMR's interact at all? _________________ 2007 D3 TDV6 GS Auto

More people seem to have PMRs than CBs, it seems to me. Though I detect that CBs seem to be getting more prevalent amongst the D3 crew.

Have just programmed a couple of handhelds and a mobile ready for Salisbury... Limited to 0.5 watt obviously... Frequency and tone list below for any other Hammies that may wish to do the same, save having to work it out! This is assuming standard 50 tone CTCSS table. _________________ A Silver G4... The interesting thing is that if an amateur were to buy a Yaesu 70cm hand-held direct from Hong Kong on Ebay they have wide band coverage (TX & RX) and can be programmed for both PMR and amateur frequencies.
Not that we'd use 5w or so on PMR of course, just for listening
That also works for the 70cms mobile rigs was well

Why bother with fleabay and Hong Kong
My IC-706IIG does a lot more than 5w on PMR
Mind you, I have a few licences other than just my amateur ticket and can Tx where I like (for testing purposes of course) _________________ _________________
