I picked up my first Discovery last Friday! Need to start with a huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to add info/considerations on this site, as it helped me no end when selecting the right car
The drive etc is spot on, but as I looked inside there are a few niggles. Firstly, the upper glove box has a rattle - assuming an easy fix?! If I put my hand on it the rattle stops, so was thinking of a packing piece in there somewhere? Maybe?
Also in the cavernous boot, the plastic covers for the 3rd row seats aren't attached. Is there a special clip to hold them on, or would glue be ok?
Lastly, in one of the storage bins in the boot, there was a selection of black plastic pieces. I'll get a pic when I get home, they're marked up LR, look like something to do with seats? Not sure though as all the seats work fine with the exception of the rear left boot seat. When you collapse the seat back, the seat belt lock doesn't slide down by itself, but I can see where the plastic rod has snapped so is a easy fix.
Any who,
Thanks again, hope this makes sense and is in the right place ( been a while since I was last on a car forum!)

Welcome to the madness.
Doesn't sound too bad for starters, fingers crossed that's it.
Thank you! I've attached (hopefully) some pictures of my random finds in the back...So far - 4X4 Info~3 Flash Indicators~2 Video inputs~Bluetooth Music~Dr-T~Fridge~Phone Update~SatNav on the move~Clock on Dash~Black in and out~Window Tints

top pic looks like part of the cover for the rear seat back latch - from memory its the underside, the other side has the picture on it to tell you to pull to get the seatMust stop buying shiny toys....

My 3rd row seat handles were in the same state as yours when I picked up my car a couple of months back, the difference being that I had the top parts too. I priced up replacements, but decided to have a look and see if they could be glued together.
When I offered them up to the metal frame underneath they just clicked back together and have remained there ever since. I figure if they drop off again I may glue them, but they're good for now.
I don't recall replacements being too expensive.***GONE*** 2007 XS Manual in Wet Weekend (Stornoway Grey) ***GONE***

I'll have a play later. I've still got the top bits with the white how to label on it.
Still just about eking 30mpg out of her too!? Obviously not running on all cylinders So far - 4X4 Info~3 Flash Indicators~2 Video inputs~Bluetooth Music~Dr-T~Fridge~Phone Update~SatNav on the move~Clock on Dash~Black in and out~Window Tints

If you've got the top bits then you're probably fine to just clip them back together. Nice cheap fix.
I'm not quite sure what it is with previous owners storing bits of loose trim in the back bins, but I've still got a couple of unidentified bits left over which I'm yet to identify.***GONE*** 2007 XS Manual in Wet Weekend (Stornoway Grey) ***GONE***
