Haven't actually changed one, but think the headlining has to be taken down to allow you to feed the cable to the module. You'll also need a Torx security bit for the mounting screws.
Having done the same I was wondering that. The wire has snapped right by the antenna and the roof fixing has a severed plastic mount (which I picked up off the garage floor). Trouble is what to do and how to fix it as everything appears to be working on the car!2014MY Discovery

You may just find that DAB reception is slightly worse- especially in low signal areas. D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT
D4 MY13 HSE Lux - RLD/IID BT
P38 RR - Sad parting
110 - Even sadder parting
S3 88" - Still going strong after 23 years of ownership

An update for people. Replacing the shark fin is very easy - glue the new fixing template to the roof, pop the bung, drop the roof lining, connect the electricals, clip on the fin and then security torx it in place. No more than an hour even for a non-mechanic like me.2014MY Discovery
