best price i found new was Roofbox Company, with 5% Caravan Club Discount added, as they were also throwing in a free number plate hanger.

They might offer bigger discount codes, also

Do you still have to use the special fitting on detachable tow bars on a MaxxRack that needs professional fitting?

I bought one a few years ago and there was a manufacturing fault - had to wait ages for a replacement

I found them a bit fiddly TBH

Thanks for the info guys. as far as i can see i think the only option for towing the caravan and carrying bikes at the same time is going to be a MAXXRAXX .Think i'll keep looking out for a secondhand one.I looked at fitting roof bars and the cycle carrier option but it works out about as much as a roof rack anyway.

The other option is to fit a roof rack and mount them on there. not had the disco long so didn't want to fit one just yet. I used to put the bike on the roof rack of the old disco 300tdi i had before and it made a mess of the roof.which was ok on the old girl as she was well used !!The newness hasn't worn off the disco3 yet.Although 2 kids , dog and wife will put pay to that soon enough !! Very Happy
