I've been advised the LR are now telling dealers they can only warranty the EPB if the vehicle is under 12 months old, otherwise it's a service item at customer cost. Any legal minds on here able to suggest how we as a group take LR to court over this here in the UK? I don't want them to pay to repair the damn thing every time it fails, I want them to redesign it so it works!!!
Bit of a scary thread as a new disco owner!
I would say its difficult to make a group action as seems popular in the US. You would be better off trying to (a) make sure you have a car that the dealer wants back (i.e. one of theirs not a rental) (b) trying to hold on to it until they repair underwarrenty (c) going in every day, parking your ratty loaner outside the front door to the showroom, for a good high volume discussion on when your car will be fixed and why you want to be told again the main reasons landrover are not honouring the 3 year warranty on your car or (d) Paying in protest (for example you were stuck in an old jag auto), marking the invoice "paid under protest" and then just filing in the small claims court to recover the money.
Its unlikely the dealer will want a CCJ against them, or even to have to send representation to the court so usually (or so a friend of mine reckons) once they get the paperwork in the post they finally understand you are not going to go away and sort it out (i.e. refund if you already paid).
Or you could take LR to small claims court, that may also work.
Not tried any of the above myself, however I have a good friend who runs a business selling high end AV gear, and you would be surprised how many well known sports personalities are a little "slow" shall we say paying, he recommends small claims court every time!

Had my entire rear brake assembly replaced by the (ex) dealer a few months ago. Just back from 2000kms trip around the UK and I've had the Park Brake Failure message flash up twice. Going into the new dealer in the morning.
Car is 15 months and 29000kms old.

Sigh. Well my EPB is now starting to play up in a 2 year olf car, so I'll have to change my vote form never - to sometimes. Intermittent, but noisy when it does. A good powerwash of the underside appears to resolve the matter here, so I'm beginning think it's dust/sand accumulation somewhere in the system which the powerwash seems to sort out. Given its 4x4 credentials, if I'm right, the wetaher/dirt protection tot he components cannot be adequate, can it?
Has there been any 'official' response to the survey results by LR? Has there been any official complaint lodged by anyone in the Forum quoting the survey results?
Whatever the reasons, it does seem to be some kind of design issue at the end of the day, and once LR have sorted the design out, that must warrant a recall on all cars surely? Don't parking brakes constitute part of the safety systems int he car, or do the manufacturers wait for a life threatening/actual event before taking action on such things? (Ooops, does that sound a little cynical?!)

2nd major screamer on the EPB in less than a year. The stealer cannot take it in until Thursday, so its flat surfaces and relying on "P" ark mode only for now. To be honest the EPB / Brakes have been continually binding for the last 2 years, it does not even seemed to fully fixed even after it has been back..
Cheers
