First time off road
So on Sunday morning I went to do some green lanes for the first time in my 05 discovery
The result was well great
Tried all the 4x4 toys everything worked as it should except the hill decent was noisey for a short while then went normal ,flicked between normal and off road height without any lights coming on
Didn't go anywhere really difficult but did some steep hills up and down
So all in all mega pleased
All transmission oil replaced
3 flash indicators
All timing belts changed
EPB serviced
De cat fitted
Wind deflectors
De-tango done
Tints fitted
Egr blanked

Hdc sounds exactly as you describe. It's the car operating the brakes - effectively the absMark.

Well done. Very brave of you.
The money this thing is costing me in tax, insurance, fuel, repairs etc you think I'm to risk breaking it by going anywhere near a field? Dream on. This thing breaks just sitting there...

Get yourself out and find some fun terrain, it's great how capable a disco is off road.

Not sure whether Pea Farm is still running although even if it was I don't think I would take a D3/4 there, the place used to be full of idiots If you do go to Slaley Forest just make sure that you stick to the proper green lane. There are some tracks which are particularly sensitive and you may get reported if you stray off the correct track. Cheers Ian
