Well after ten years of ownership I've hung up my Disco keys for the last time.
I bough the car at four months old in July 2006 and I've enjoyed every drive in it - ok it had a few niggles but nothing reality serious ( apart from the turbo actuator at 3 yrs)
I'm not buying another Disco at this time as I don't need one - I don't tow the caravan any more (dodgy legs) nor shoot so the running costs just got silly - £515 tax and expensive service and each year. It needed tyres and the rims refurbishing again - it all added up. Added to that was the short ish journeys and their 22mpg
The family will have to mange with the Bmw 335 Xd - I hope it does the hill from my house as well as the Disco
I'm sorry to see it go - it was like leaving the old pet Labrador at the vets when I left it at the dealer last week! The car was almost part of the family - it had been for ten years!
I've got a few odds and ends to go in the for sale section soon.
An 18 five spoke alloy, detachable tow bar, RLD wheel protector, side step trims , trolley jack adaptor etc - I will price them up and post later .
The forum has been a great help and although I've not posted a lot I've done plenty of lurking and listening - I will continue to do so - I don't think this will be my last Landrover Experience somehow.
Once (twice in my case) bitten always smitten!

I left my D3 at the dealers last month after nearly 11 years of happy motoring. I know exactly how you felt leaving yours. Hope the new motor gets you up that hill! As you slide down the banister of life
