What is this in the lights?

OK I've only had the car for 17 months but have just noticed this bulb type thingie in the headlamp as I was driving towards the D4 entering the drive. What is this, cornering lamp? Or am I just having a senior moment and its parking lights or something simple?

MY11 D4 HSE with standard xenon lights, not the extortionate adaptive malarkie. Thumbs Up

It's where the cornering lights go, might just be a blank though if not fitted

Cheers. Thumbs Up

Hmmmmm, it's raining at the mo but might have a search on cornering lights as ISTR it could be as simple as bung a bulb in there and enable with the mighty IID. As Balldrick would say, a cunning plan could be hatched. Thumbs Up

Oh well, it was a good idea but doesn't look straight forward (removing blanks and feeding wires) so will give it a miss. Obviously LR have learned not to put stuff in and not use it as we will use it, just not pay them an arm and a leg for it. Rolling Eyes

Yeh seems the old way of fitting all the looms and just enabling to spec is no more as people have the tech to activate stuff now.

Still remember getting cruise in my first 05 D3 just by buying and fitting the switch (it was already enabled), the dealer told me in writing it could not be done Smile
