Towbar electrics cover.
I am venting my spleen at yet one more Landrover design issue. The cover over the electrical sockets for the tow bar. Specifically the fasteners! - One needs to get down low and with a wide flat blade screwdriver to fasten/unfasten the clips! - If the clips had been designed with a finger toggle that would at least allow the cover to be fitted without tools?
Does anyone know if the clips have ever been made with finger toggles? Perhaps by an independent?
I bonded some plastic off cuts in my old one, imagine a coin cut in half in the groove, worked well as a thumb turn Altox GSM FBH controller thread

I found it strange that I had to get in my belly to undo but a two pence works
The issue I have is the red plastic cover for the tow bar itself keeps falling out. Luckily on the drive so farD4 HSE - Aintree Green

Sorry I can't see a problem with the design as you can undo using a ordinary yale or similar house key or a 2 pence piece and even with my knackered knees I can lean down enough to undo and do up without much problem.Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car

I have to give my red plug a sharp upward knock on the forward edge to get the flexible lug to locate correctly into the recess in the socket. If I don't, I know it will fall out very quickly.

Towbar electrics cover.
Beanie - great idea about the thumb screw technique - Any idea if thumbscrews would work with the Landrover design team?
As for knackered knees - well should we really be expected to get down that far? As regards 2p coin - yep but I live in France - no 2p (seriously I know what you mean but wouldn't it be better with Beanie's thumb screws!!!)
I'm not at all sure about the red cover/tow bar bit - mine is fastened on with a lock. If that sounds a bit facetious it is not meant to be - I have not taken off the hook!
The thumb screw idea would be great but preferably made as part of the moulding process - anyone seen it as a replacement?
Got to give magnets a bit of thought.
Anyway - thanks guys.

Stainless chain and keyring works a great. I was fed up of replacing it.

just get yourself a cheap metal tag type keyring like this one.
perfect fit and you won't be making the cover easier to steal/fall off!
