| Anyone got a call about break failure |
|
I got a LRA call today about customer satisfaction and service but my other half got a call from the same person around the same time about an urgent break failure issue - no more info except it will be fixed free and needs to be done urgently
Can anyone elaborate?

Saw dealer today; he didn't mention it.
Let us know what your dealer says. Getting there is half the fun

No but here is my response to the issue elsewhere on the forum:
Quote:Have been in twice for this, seem where the brake and stuff is ( me not technical ) aint the best place if you take D3 off road. Dealer said only issues have been with D3's that go offroad ( ie mud, dirt etc) not say RRS with same brake set up as none, or very rare venture off road. Warranty first time, paid for parts second time, they logged a report with LRA,

HI all. Only service info is for the hand brake adjustment during a service, no recall info for brakes.

i had a total break failure a few months back
history-had it in for a service and noticed following day brake fluid light on
topped it up and the next day while sitting at lights and disco in drive and holding it
on the foot brake it started creeping forward
pumped the brake pedal and all felt fine
after several miles and while sitting in traffic same happened
pulled in to side of road and discovered brake fluid out onto the road
dealer came with tow truck(what a heavy beast to get onto a tow truck)
dealer discovered a brake pipe had come loose(or was never clamped in first place)behind the
engine and was rubbling against the engine causing it to split
hope this not scare anybody

Rang the dealer back today to find out what the prob was and apparently it is a break shoe adjustment and not a major drama. Can't be too urgent if it can wait until the car gets serviced.

Spoke to a guy last night who has new Disco 3 and lost brakes, apparently brake line was rubbing on engine and put a hole in the brake line. Luckily for him it was detected at a set of lights. Same story creeping forward while foot on the brake and the pedal went to the floor. Have suggested he join forum and give everyone a heads-up Take the road less traveled.
