..and insurance is only as good as the payout. No point in saving £100 to go rock bottom if that insurer won't pay out, or gives too much grief/argument at the all important time! TDV6 SE Auto, Cairns Blue

B H - I thought I would try NFU but they were DOUBLE the £300 I have with First Alternative
I thought they might be more sympathetic to winches / re-maps etc. Never even got to mention those...
That's their West Yorkshire office. Lovely people. Awful quote. 06 TDV6 SE Tonga Green

NFU declined to insure me because of my postcode .. so I think CY is correct
Can't understand it as I live near farms and fields but not near enough I guess

I insure both my D3 and D2 with the NFU at cambridge . they are really good and service second to none.
the fact they know what a Land Rover was intended for is an added bonus .And there is always a D3 parked outside

The only thing NFU asked me is if I owned a croft,no, but but not a bad quote at 350. One place I will never go back to is the Halifax (esure) I am still waiting now 3 weeks after my D3 being written off for my money, plus as some one said you get what you pay for, I should have read the small print £100 max for contents of the car,my sunglasses cost more than that . Plus they say my roof rack was a modifacation and should have been on the policy same as the tow bar, there is another few hundred quid saved for there share holders.

When I fitted my expo rack I notified the insurers (Norwich Union) via my broker. They replied that it did not have to be on the policy as it was considered to be an accessory, not a modification. I reckon Halifax are really trying it on.

I'm in SE london and NFU wouldn't even quote me because of my postcode!
They say they are only "low risk" insurers "prepare for the worst, hope for the best"

I'm in the process and TheAA and DirectLine are currently cheapest. NFU next on the list for a quote. Don't Panic! Everything will be fine.... inflation is only 2.5% 3.0% 3.3% and the flying pigs are carbon neutral

I live in a town and NFU covered me.
However, they also told me that the offroad insurance would not cover you for "pay to play" days. It only covers green-laning etc. Sharks: Natures way of telling surfers to get a job

You don't need to get a green card to go abroad with NFU either. You don't even need to tell them you are going to Europe unless it is a long trip (over 6 moths if i remember correctly). Privilege used to charge £30 a trip for a green card. Sharks: Natures way of telling surfers to get a job
