Dunlop compressor fitted and valve blocks refurbished |
|
after a descending D3 every 3 days I thought it might be a good idea to check for leaks in the air valve blocks.
removed all three of them, changed all the joints for the Landyair kit, cleaned out all the white powder from the air dryer, changed the airdryer as well and fired back up.
NO GO.
lots of faults on the dash and D3 stays on its blocks.
so got out the compressor to refurbish as well (had all the joints anyway) but after doing so I saw the cylinder wall was broken just below the top joint.
soooooo, got a new Dunlop compressor, fitted it in, changed the relay as directed, fired up the engine again, but still nothing happens.
I heard the compressor fire up the first time and keep running for about two minutes, before cutting out.
(probably the overheat security kicking in)
mind you the whole pneumatic system emptied while doing all the valve blocks, so I guessed it's normal it takes some time, but after another 3 firing up attempts of the engine the car stays low and the compressor doesn't even fire up any more.
I get warning messages like HDC fault, transmission faults, special programs off, and manipulating the ride height switch gives a 'bong' and blinking light on switch.
did I up???

Make sure that you have correctlly connected the valve blocks air lines.
Also, from my experience, if you open up the valve core (the mushroom shaped objct, on which you slide the orings) the valve will not close any more and a new one is needed.

i hope you're wrong.
it's quite a straightforward job to do.
just be careful and work clean and put everything back the way it came out.
I hope it's just the computer that needs to be rebooted.
