Took the front end apart to find the faulty park sensor. Oddly it was a sensor that had been changed out and replaced with a rear one! Left it disconnected as it has a short across the pos and neg feed which brings down the supply to both front and rear. Annoyed that the park assist ECU can tell that it is faulty now it is disconnected but not clever enough to be able to allow the others to work!Series 1 V8

Thank the Lord that these jobs are over.
.......
Also thanks to all who have given their snippets of information on how to do these critical tasks , things went surprisingly well,(although it took me all day yesterday, and a couple of hours this morning), even removing the starter to lock the drive plate, and fitting the new oil pump, front crankshaft seal and pulley ...It started first flick of the key, and after bleeding and topping up the coolant, I took it for a run, and so far no leaks or anything untoward D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

Pick up my Disco Tomorrow
It is ready, my new to me 06 disco3 with new oil pump and cam belts as per this sites recommendation. Thanks are due as engine should hopefully be ok for a while.
She is a low mileage s spec auto in grey metallic paint. I've traded in the wife's Honda Jazz and my S class Mercedes, both useless with five dogs on tow. Now it is two Land Rovers, the new to us Disco and the old Freelander 1 workhorse, 140K and still running sweetly in spite of my servicing.
I'll let you know how I get on and ask for advice on what I want to do to her once she is mine.
See you tomorrow.

A big mileage milestone today.....
Cant quite match that but passed 140,000 this week, highest mileage vehicle I have had and apart from a bit of wear on the drivers seat and an annoying squeak, she is nearly as good as new.
Took 4 wheels and tyres and 4 new tyres to the tyre fitter to swap over for the tintent, existing tyres were 8 yrs old!==================================
