Also thanks to all who have given their snippets of information on how to do these critical tasks , things went surprisingly well,(although it took me all day yesterday, and a couple of hours this morning), even removing the starter to lock the drive plate, and fitting the new oil pump, front crankshaft seal and pulley ...It started first flick of the key, and after bleeding and topping up the coolant, I took it for a run, and so far no leaks or anything untoward
whats the lr part number for the scaffold pipe LOL

Yep it's LR0SERIOUSGRUNT7710 .....no, really, that pipe was invaluable (used with a 3/4" drive breaker bar), cannot undo or do the bolt up adequately without it, or something similar.

Today I used my newly acquired airbag removal tool (thanks Hess!) to take my steering wheel apart to track down an intermittent cruise control issue.
There were questionable wires but not CC related...
but had a fettle and all seems well on the test drive, but that's the nature in intermittent problems - only time will tell!
If i have further problems I'll just order a new wiring loom to remove all doubt about the loom
I also sorted my bonnet catch issue where one side kept popping open, so thanks to Narpy and others for posting this as a common fix/resolution. A few mins filing and all is now well 8)
I may get around to washing it one day, but once a year is enough surely?

Headlight Mod
I have been doing a lot of online research on how to modify the Lr3 Headlights to give it a more modern look and feel. I think I nailed it and wanted to share. I actually did this Saturday, I opened the light using the heatgun method. I used a small rotary tool to cut the amber signal reflector and sanded the cut for a smooth finish, leaving only the side marker. I then followed the grille and body line and painted the inside of the lense housing the color of the body, giving the illusion of a more squintier <--- not a word I know ..... look in the front closer to the lr4. I also added the lr4 style grille. I couldn't be happier with the result. *** If you do this I highly recommend you paint the inside of the light, because the glass or plastic lense (if you will) will give it a natural gloss finish and an overall factory look** I'm not saying this was easy but in my opinion well worth the effort.

broke it
well only part of it but a major part nonetheless, the crank, driving at a steady 55-60 and a bang and no drive recovered to the garage and had it checked, the front crank pulley is at angle and block is cracked , so i think it will be for sale as spares or repair.nobody is perfect but being Scottish is a start

Yesterday I have adjusted the EPB shoes as per Bodsy's Bible. Than I took it for a spin around Morrisons carpark to complete bedding in procedure, first time round success.
Today I took it for the MOT and passed it with flying colours and no advisories.
Happy now. Till next year.
PS. Ian, thank you very much for your constant evolution of a breaks manual (Breaks Bible).
