1025 miles Shocked

I must be mad, but you know that feeling when your driving home.... you just want to get home. We planned to stop the night in Calais, but after leaving St Aygulf at 7am, and getting to Calais at 6.30pm, we got an earlier crossing and were home by midnight.

A fookin long day, but we stopped regularly and it was no big deal. Of course, it was the D3 which made so easy. What a car Thumbs Up

And, for you doubters, mine is now on 106,000 miles, and has done 2500 in the last fortnight and not missed a beat, she has run perfectly.

Took a spare wheel with a punctured tyre for a ride around this morning.

All the local independent tyre places in a 5 mile radius from home were closed and KwikFit were too busy to look at the tyre.

Came home and put a spare set of Disco3.co.uk stickers on my D1. Well, I guess it's allowed!

Spend most of the day with caravan hitch assembly in bits on the bench, trying to work out if the shock absorber is working ok, it's certain still got oil or gas in it, but the action does not seem right. had the van sound like it had bottomed out on the hitch stop a couple of time in May, not sure why.

So the Disco was used as a portable radio whilst I was working on the van.

Hoiked a couple of trees out of the River Goyt yesterday morning - went with my F-I-L and an Angling Club Working Party to offer some TLC to the north bank down at the Stockport end of the Goyt Valley

Sadly the trees were small enough to chop up with a chainsaw and carry the chunks out, so didn't need to drag them out using the D3 Big Cry

Weather was superb, worked up a bit of a sweat with some manual labour and finished up with a can of beer just before lunch sat on the riverbank Thumbs Up

Sometimes the D3 wading depth is just not good enough...

Got to put the boy to work moving boulders Razz Several 4x4 clubs are working together to help the forest rangers of Washington and Jefferson national forests with trail repairs, posting signs, and blocking access to off-limit sections. The forestry department in turn will be opening up some previously closed trailways & building us some obstacle playgrounds Thumbs Up

The only thing that was not fun was one annoying man (always is isn't there lol) who felt he had to tell me how to do evvvverything, down to how to put the bolt on a D-shackle Rolling Eyes He did have to use me as a paperweight to keep his Heep in place when he was winching Laughing Wink

I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?
