Disco 2 ACE & Power Steering Fluid - Use on a D3?

I have a bottle of LR Extreme Temp ACE/Power Steering fluid and I am wondering whether it will be OK for the power steering on the D3?

If it's gen Land Rover it should say cold climate PAS fluid on the bottle. It's the same stuff used in D2 and D3

Can any decent PS fluid be used on D3? I only had the LR Cold Climate because it was for the ACE on my TD5.

Normal pas is colour coded red.

The LR stuff is green. I don't know if that means it's mineral based

CHF11 Power steering oil.
DO NOT use red ATF oil as it will damage the seals and cause leaks.
Can get the same at Halfords, about £10 or £11 per litre with trade card or about £15 without.

D2 owners manual states that ATF can be used as an alternative in the PAS and ACE.

Best to use the Coldclimate PS fluid. It's actually made by Texaco.

I have seen systems with red Dexron type fluid in, but it's best practice not to use these or mix them.

If it was interchangeable then Landrover would have stated that. In my workshop Manual for the D2, D3 RRS & RR it says use only Texaco 14315 cold climate fluid only.

regards
Steve
