Old news. Rescue01 on here did that a few years back - towed a Tesco articulated lorry up a snowy hill using his D3LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

An aluminium structure, unibody, car wouldn't be my first choice for this sort of work.
Thats nothing......, the Disco Sport can pull a 108T train! just think what the D5 could tow
That's nothing - back in 1989 a real Discovery, with a proper chassis, pulled a proper train - not that dinky little Hornby "00" train set with only 3 carriages!

The greatest weight pulled by one horse(the four legged animal type) is 100 tons It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

As a professional body, how does this affect their insurance towing over 3.5 tonne, and what about their risk assessment?
Devil's advocate you understand.
I reckon that it's a solid bar and the truck is pushing the disco up the hill
Na, to big a distance between the Disco and the Daf, look closely when the Daf goes up a gear you can see the strap drop slightly and take the tension again.

You don't need a Disco to tow a lorry, a Subaru (WRX) can do it.
