It is with warrantywise. The warranty extension was done through the dealer, and it covers max £8490, the purchase price of the car, single repair not exceeding £2k.
Tried to find what exactly we paid, but cannot find the sum on the contract. But I think was not more than £400.
You can chose additional cover, such as aircon, airbag and other, which we havent. but it does include breakdown cover ,which came handy three days after purchase when the car had a flat battery and locked itself completely.

Experience with warrantywise |
|
Dear JXL123, here an update on my experience with warrantywise. I have now just had submitted a claim for a failing torque converter. The car started stuttering when going uphill and did not keep the revs. I brought the car to an expert mechanic who is specialised in torque converters and gearboxes. He assessed the car and confirmed that the torque converter had a mechanical failure. I have then contacted warrantywise and started claim. Thereafter, the torque converter was removed, and opened up and showed floating metal pieces. An engineer, sent from warrantywise assessed the part and came to the conclusion that this is simply "wear and tear". Even after long debates warrantywise is it would not accept the claim that this is part failure rather than wear and tear. They indirectly suggested that they would only pay out in case of a "catastrophic part failure", i.e. had I driven the car further, I might have been successful with my claim, which I think is unfair. Also, they mentioned that this car had 120,000 miles on the clock and therefore these types of parts are subject to failure anyway, but then I do not see the purpose of the insurance at all.
The repair was approximately £2000, which would have been fully covered, had the claim been accepted.
I will further try to challenge this but I would probably dissuade people with a similar vehicle to take out such an assurance. My mechanic also said that these insurances try to evade any payout where possible.
