DSC problem

Hi all

Had an issue crop up recently, when it’s wet and I’m going round a right hand bend (fairly tight) the DSC light flashes on and I can feel it “pulling” through the steering wheel, it feels like it’s the left front wheel where something is happening.

It’s not too bad if only doing 40mph ish but very worrying at 60+. Only seems to happen in the wet😱

Same for me, but on left hand bends. Checked the tyre pressures and rear right was low, but problem still happens.

So will watch this topic closely.

Check steering angle sensor calibration and for worn or soft susp arm bushes.
Edit: And tyre thread condition too!

Hiya G, hope you are well mate:thumbsup:

Indeed if the calibration is out it will kick in the DSC, similarly worn bushes can cause it especially on bends in the wet!

Mine has just had new suspension arms {courtesy of Woody32} and 4 wheel alignment so I’ll try calibration of the wheel angle sensor over the weekend, I’m sure I’ve seen it on the iid menu.
Is it hard to do the calibration?

At least u know they've been done 100% correctly with woody 32 doing the work , has a fantastic reputation

Very easy to do, just ensure ur steering wheel is dead straight , then reset to zero via the iid

Had the same thing happen with my disco today, going round left hand corners It occasionally flashed up the dsc light on the dash, sounds an easy fix (famous lay words).
Cheers for all the advice given.

New Zealand

I had this issue on my (new to me) D3, which I appear to have rectified.

I replaced the front RH half shaft and wheel bearing as result of a vibration at speed, and had some play/grittiness to them both. At time of replacing the wheel hub, cleaned the ABS sensor (which was filthy).

Previous experience with ABS faults in my Disco 1 were fixed by cleaning crap from the ABS sensor and tightening wheel bearings.

My problem is the Steering Angle Sensor moving

https://disco4.com/forum/steering-angle-se...ng+column.

This will explain the problem and the fix - namely glueing sensor back onto shaft.

PROBLEM FIXED

I have now followed this fix and it has fixed the problem. You need a method to recalibrate the steering angle.
