Well I knew that there were unfunded liabilities but they didn't want to draw attention to it.
The Lords Committee came to the same conclusion as me though.
We could legally tell the EU that they are owed nothing by the UK.
"They" meaning who? ....everything remain said aligned with project fear ....eh I mean "reality" No?
Be honest ....as predicted, its a total disaster with the UK floundering and feckless.... the silence from brexiteers is deafening

I'll say it now, Brexit WON'T happen. People are realising what it actually means to them, and the wider impact it will have on their earnings and lifestyle.
Europe's not perfect, but we should be in it fixing it not trying to survive in an unstable and uncertain world.
I have friends involved in the process, and to say we are unprepared and in disarray is an understatement. In the words of one, 'we are f8@3%d!' You should hear her views on the the infighting amongst the Cabinet..New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

Well the French are starting to realise that it might well be in their own interests to be friends with us,
Macron's already lost his top military man over his proposed budget cuts to the French military and they already don't meet their NATO 2% of GDP spend commitment.

Can you point to me to any information which explains how the supremely well prepared EU have a forward plan to manage their upcoming funding gap? Proposals to raise further contibutions from members or proposals for spending cuts around 10%?

Given that Europe want us to give them some £50m I would say given that our contribution has been around £200m over the last 40 years that they are thinking they will be sorted for the next 10.
Personally I think since we have decided to leave that we now see their true colours and that we will be better out of it long term. But I also think that it will be long term and short term pain is inevitable - well, it is unless the politicians all sort their lives out and agree what they are doing.Mark.

Isn't that what DC tried? They didn't take it seriously, they thought they were clever, the EU brought this on itself.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

True but what they want and what they get are two different things. And whatever the final payment is, and I accept there'll be one, they still need to address their forward finances and as of yet they have done nothing other than try to extort money from us.

Absolutely for sure. You do not make changes like this without some uncertainty and some disruption.

My vote was very finely balanced, After much consideration I went with Leave. Your statement above accords with my own feelings since, I'm a more committed Leaver now than I was then.

The EU will plug it in the form of spreading additional funding and some cut backs no doubt....it's not a huge amount of money after all ....e.g. its the equivalent of 1% of the entire German budget alone ...and they are currently running surpluses of +E20bn.
Brexiteers trying to divert attention away from our own precarious cliffside footing?

If I allow my opinion once again .... from the moment that your "exit" requires a negotiation that exit is not good for you, it is a simple principle of logic, if the "exit" were good for you and bad for us, would be an exit without more..... Let me say that I can not understand that you do not see it ..... lost in translation!

Our net contribution annually to the EU is equivalent to just over 2% of all German public spending.
I can't see the German public being enthralled with having to part with many billions more than they do already.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto
