Was reading this last week then found out weekend Daughters boyfriend touched bumper of car in front last week in a queue doing about 5 mph - no damage to his car - not a scratch!
Guy in front claimed the rusty horizontal crease had just happened (looked like sort of thing caused reversing into a post) even though it was clear nothing on front of Fiesta could of done it
Details exchanged and couple of days later he hears the driver, wife and baby all have injuries in car he touched when his foot slipped off brake in queue
The lad is now stressed out about the claim and future premiums - talking of giving up driving and using public transport
All our cars have dashcams since a woman reversed into me and claimed I hit her and he's regretting not having one now
My youngest has just passed his test and looking at £1500 with black box/£2000 without for insurance on a £1500 Punto in rural Yorkshire - Daughter paid £600 couple of years ago when she passed her test for same car living in Cowley (next to Mini factory funny enough)

I have a dash cam also and the plan is to put one in the mini also - need to get a new dash added first.
The quote for this new one was £300 for 3 months (When my multi car renewal is due), so works out at £1200 for 1 year with legal and breakdown included - Last August on the original mini is was £600 for the same cover - so his charge has doubled due to the write-off
One thing I will say is that 'Admiral' were superb, hear so often about insurance companies not being good when you need to claim, but they were really helpful, were concerned with his welfare and called us regularly with updates - On a personal note, they all had lovely accents as well, based in Cardiff, so it was like being home

It's a 1989 mini Mayfair - 1275 engine
Paintwork is excellent and bodywork is also really good, just a few 'surface' rust areas underneath, which will be worked on this coming weekend. Dash needs re-doing as it is 'home made', but this will be done over the coming months. Few other little jobs on the list, such as steering wheel, battery cut-off (already has a fuel pump cut-off)
Engine is solid, gearbox & clutch also done during last couple of years, with only 1000 miles covered in that time.
