Anyone got an old free sat box lying around that's not used anymore?
Bought a new ( to me ) house and as there's satellite cables everywhere my easiest option to set up a tv in kitchen is this way.
Let me know what you've got. I only need it to act as a go between telly and cable
Thanks D3 57 xs Stornaway grey

That's the thing I looked at Narpy, is that what I need?
Originally was looking at freesat boxes for £150 + but wasn't sure what I needed.
If that's the case it'd be as cheap buying one of those instead of Sean posting his at not much cheaper.

I've got 2 Sky boxes (both from 2012, one is HD record, other just HD, both with controllers - slightly puppy chewed) which you are welcome to - PM me as to how I can get them to you

Yeah, with that box you scan all the satellite frequencies and receive everything that is available, these are then presented in a user friendly manner with categories like Sport, Documentaries, News etc. which makes the whole thing very simple.
You can also update the firmware on the box and change the channel listings etc. they're very flexible tbh.
You can program the box to only receive free to air channels too if you don't want to wade through all the subscription and subsequently scrambled channels.
They are very good. Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.
Long Roof Rails

I will agree with Narpy these boxes are really cheap and easy to use as an alternate to sky/cable as long as the line supplier is good then the tv will be good i don't have that box as i wanted hd channels as well so have a different box with a good line supplier Discovery 3 se gone

Thanks for the offer Sean, but I'm up north doing the Northern 500 this week.
I'll just order one from eBay and see how it goes.
