D3 HSE rims onto a D4 - TPMS problems?

Looking at buying a set of D3 HSE 19" six spokes for winter/off road use to go on my 64 plate HSE.

Having had a D3, wasn't aware of it having tyre pressure sensors whereas the D4 definitely does.

So my question - do the wheels need TPMS on a D4 or will it cause a hissy fit?

The light will come on to say TPMS not working. 2 options, fit TPMS valves to the wheels (that is what I have done, car recognises them no problem) or ignore the light like a friend does. I was once told that it could invalidate your insurance driving around with a known fault indicated, but I have never verified that.

I'm pretty sure it's an MOT failure but on the D3, with an IIDTool you can deactivate the system. No idea about the D4 though...

My D3 07 HSE does not have tyre pressure sensors.

surely it is only the valve caps, you can swap the sensors from one set to another.

Nope, sensor is inside the rim, base of the valve stem.

read handbook and appears my 07MY HSE doesn't have TPMS unless it has been disabled previously.
According to handbook warning light for it is above the fuel gauge, light doesn't even come on on mine when ignition turned on.

If it's a bolted on valve it MAY be a TPMS valve, if it's rubber, it won't be Thumbs Up

Surly it will have the reset switch next to the PDC switch if TPMS is fitted ?
