Discovery 3 PTI system - No Phone Fitted! |
|
Hi guys, I am quite new to this forum but it has proved a lifeline with various issues before.
I have a 54 plate Disco 3 HSE which I have retrofitted, or tried to, a genuine Land Rover PTI system. I have a stereo with the phone button, and now have the Bluetooth module, phone module, buttons on the steering wheel and also the phone cradle set up in the cubby box.
However the radio is still saying "No Phone Fitted"!!!
When I search for the Bluetooth on an iPhone it doesn't find the system, and when I have an old Nokia fitted in the cradle it still doesn't find a phone!
I thought I had followed all the installation instructions, everything is connected and the phone in the cubby box cradle charges so there is power to it.
Any suggestions of what I might have missed or what to do as it's driving me nuts!!
Thanks

Have you edited the CCF to include the telephone?
(You don't relate the installation you've undertaken, so I apologise if you've already done this step) Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I am a rookie when it comes to anything other than screws and plugs. I've not enabled anything, just done a plug and play. What is the CCF and how do I enable it?

No probs.
CCF is a file in the car's electronics that lists the functionality of the car. When you add in all the parts of the BT system, you need to edit the file to update the car. You can either buy a device to do this, or pay someone to do this for you. A popular device is IID - a search here will no doubt give you a source or check the sponsors' page for sale/provision of service. The basic versions of these devices tend to be linked to a VIN, so only those with multiple vehicles or commercial people have unlimited versions that can be used on your car.
AFAIK, there should be a setting for "cellular telephone" which needs to be "Bluetooth with docking station" and Bluetooth needs to be enabled. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

You not only have to fit the parts but you have to tell the car via a diagnostic tool that it now has a phone fitted, otherwise it won't know it's there.
Put out a shout for somebody with the correct equipment to edit your CCF and tell the car it now has a phone installed. Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.
Long Roof Rails
