DOT 2014 Tyre purchase
Need a set of tyres for the front (currently scorpions) , have Verde AS on back and think they are very good. Found a pair of DOT 2014 Verdes for a good price off Tyre Leader.
Any issues with buying brand new tyres that are already 3 years old ?
Thanks for the suggestions

depend on how theyve been stored I guess.... if youre going to leave them on for a year or 18 months they would probably do, but for much more, well the rubber perishes etc. Is there much price difference compared to 'new'?

they are from tyre leader so hope stored in a warehouse ? delivered for £106 each, then need to get them fitted at £20 a wheel.
Or black-circles at £146 fitted so circa £20 a wheel cheaper.James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

I wouldn't worry about 2014 coded tyres, as long as I was using them up in a couple of years or so.

Isnt this just another "scam" by the tyre manufacturers, like sell by dates on food/etc.
I dont think rubber does perish like it used to 20odd or more years ago.

Last time I checked with Continental, was advised not to fit over 6 yrs. old or use after 10 yrs. Both assuming stored correctly.
