Read the post & thought a bit....actually a lot
It's strange how families kids down the road seem to find an attraction to either allow or tell thier offspring to congregate elsewhere. Spring / summer evenings outside hooning about.
It doesn't happen by itself
either:
~ They ("the kids") are told by "the parents" to go down the road......& by instruction (or rotten luck) it's "your" bit of road outside your place.
or
The kids are "free range", & not under control of thier parents....being there, winding you up gives them some satisfaction. The parents aren't bothered.

The fact they are there means something to you.
1) Damage to property is a tangible thing that can be photographed. Make sure you have some.
2) being on your plot either momentarily or longer than that leaving bikes on the road way also photographable.
3) just bring there, making noise is a form of nuisance. Acceptable maybe if it's a one or few off...but combined with 'tother things can & will wind you up.

What I'd do: (maybe not "politically" correct bordering on the illegal)
1) ignore them....they may get bored & go away. Unlikely.

2) go out there & ask then tell them to move - thier reply will tell you whether it's the kids acting the maggot or the parents telling them. Important to know this. They may be just turning the blind eye or just being ignorant.

Neither work.....OK
a) "move" thier bikes...properly ....take them off your drive put them at the side of the road a distance away from your plot.

b) be there when plants / shrubs being damaged & tell them to desist.....take pictures.

c) when they are there making noise - be there film & record - make sure you tell them you are doing this (important).
Whatever you do - don't lose the bap, stay calm, don't retaliate
Have a witness there.
The kids will either latch on or take the facts of what you've done back to parents.....they may realise you are making the case for something bigger.

This doesn't work.
4) Go speak to the parents....hear what they say.....this will indicate if they are creating the situation or just letting a situation happen.

5) decide for yourself if you want to have a battle - in what could escalate into a war.

6) a well aimed solicitors letter.......With facts & consequences, mentioning damage to property, trespass, nuisance - what is reasonable.

Which may be where you are right now....
Whatever you do....
Don't lose your cool (at least for them to see)
Don't damage thier kit....gives them leave to retaliate....

What could be done:
7) find the fire hydrant near to your property - get a key & stanpipe....set up a hose on the pretext you are flushing your drains - hose the little tw@ts down.....you arent that good an aim with a hose.

8) just go out & be there right in the middle of them, get in there way....may take some time....but it will confuse them....& p¥SS them off. P¥sed off kids go home & p¥SS the parents off....do this again if they transgress again.....you take the crap (properly) back to where it comes from.

9) make a point of ensuring they know your property is under CTTV....

10) wars consisting of battles with neighbours are irreversible, attitudes harden things stay as they are or get worse rarely get better. Play the part of being reasonable, invoke the support of your other nieghbours.
Escalate this to nieghborhood police if you think it could help - use the data you have got.

Note: I have had battles with people parking on my hard standing (motorbikes left there for long periods), cars in inappropriate spots (blocking easy access)....I've used the reasonable / legal route.....that have worked 100%.

Aston - you've probably had some seriously good / nice vehicles parked outside your place - is there a jealousy / envy / comparison thing ? .....it's not surprising what motivates nieghbour.

Good luck.....I'll come & visit you in prison !

Sitting the Disco outside the offenders' house and using the blue smoke feature when pulling away rapidly might help.

Basically, its a pain in the Censored when it happens and to resolve - we had it about 15 years ago with a lad across the road (he was actually OK and his Dad is a great bloke, but his mates were tw*ts).

My advice? - unless it becomes criminal damage - leave it - all the macho talk is great, but it can end up consuming your life.

Its a transient, temporary thing, ignore them, they'll get bored and move to loiter elsewhere (speaking from experience as I was no angel when I was in my early teens)

Luckily I only have one neighbour and he's a nice 50 something who like to look after his garden and does my hedges sometimes..

However... I live near a caravan site in the Derbyshire dales, which presents its own problems. we have a field for the horses which is next to the 'dog walking field' of the caravan park. we also have a foot path diagonally across our field and through the bottom of our garden.

last year we had kids throwing rocks at the horses, playing football in MY field (playing football near a horse is not a good idea).. among the normal dog s Censored t left all over the place and rubbish left everywhere.

lucky for them my horses are pretty bullet proof, but they don't know that, we had kids playing in the field with the horses without a parent in sight (one kid was alone and about 6YO!) I did think about locking him in my garage for a few hours, but I didn't think that would go down so well with the local rozzer (who is a good friend, I'm sure they would understand).

Horses can be unpredictable and even my kids have someone with them all the time when in the field.

My kids are extremely well behaved and polite (scarily so) so I don't understand when some kids are such little f Censored kers. I completely blame the parents, I think they way a child has been brought up 9 times out of 10 depicts how they will live their life. which is sad because a lot of parents don't give a s Censored t.

Anyway, my way to combat the whole situation was to fit a fairly high voltage electric fence 'for the horses', which follows the field around the edges leaving a ~3ft path.. if kids do play in the field the stay well clear as im happy for them to learn the hard way Whistle Thumbs Up

Also, I think I'll teach my son to use an air rifle this year too, 8 is more than old enough to operate a weapon but not be very accurate Whistle

My wife being a weapon specialist helps Wink

In RED is my house and field and in blue is the camping club.

My Brother had this happen to him and tried speaking to them which made it 10x worse and going to the police who weren't interested Evil or Very Mad

They progressed to vandalising his vehicles before he installed cctv - they thought they were fake so he got a great video of them shouting abuse, throwing Censored at his property and then climbing up to smash the camera - he handed the footage to the police who then took action and he never had anymore trouble Thumbs Up

Definitely the parents fault - they tell the kids to Censored off so they can watch their soaps in peace - when I was a kid my parents wanted to know where I was at all times and if me and may mates got mischievous hearing the words "let's see what your dad has to say about this" was enough to get us all Censored ourselves Embarassed

Get cctv, catch them in the act then pass it on to the Police - they're infringing your human rights Thumbs Up

A few years back we had the local kids building their ramps in the middle of the road. These ramps were so positioned that my neighbour couldn't get her Micra through the gap. After a quick visual inspection for nails the ramp was "cured" by my old 110 with a loaded 3-axle trailer. Strangely enough the ramp never re-appeared Whistle

My mates daughter was bullied at Junior School, first time teachers did nothing so my mate told daughter to stand up to them, she got suspended! This time they spoke to the girls parents who swore at mates wife, now mates car is being vandalised. Police have asked for videos.

Years ago even bad parents would react to kids bad behaviour, if kid Censored you off and you Censored the dad off he would Censored the kid off!

Neighbours kids and their parents attitude (my little darlings wouldn't do that) has resulted in us having so much stress that we have moved from a house we loved. The kid's dad even made a point of mentioning that he does boxing.....pathetic. Police and community support officers were not interested. I've never felt so useless. Little Censored Censored Censored It is very biased towards the kids.

Awww. It was funny. But sorry if the brisk language caused any offence. None intended, but lesson learned.

Have had to unfriend my mother on Facebook (I'm 51) as she objects to the language I use.

It is scary how these situations can escalate. It always intrigues me as to what the catalyst is, out of blue this stuff starts happening. Not a nice situation to be in.

Aston, I've got a gander you can borrow, he's proper nasty and not scared of anyone, when he gets hold of you really know about it Rolling with laughter

This is the kind of thing that sends totally normal calm people over the edge.
