Front lettering
How many have changed the letters on the bonnet from landrover to Discovery. Trying to decide which looks best. I've got the grey letters and thinking of changing to chrome and Discovery.
How many of you guys have done this ?

Did mine to gloss black piece of cake to do heat the letters up with a hairdryer and get under the letter with a plastic scraper then clean off the old glue by rebating with hair dryer and the buff clean with alcohol wipes God created heavy armour on 06 sept 1916, on the 7th the devil stood to attention!

I've bought one new Disco and one 11 month old one and had the dealer remove DISCOVERY from the bonnet before taking delivery, for me to put LAND ROVER back in its rightful place!
But then, if I'm asked what I drive, I say "a Land Rover", "a Discovery" doesn't convey the same classless and practical message that it used to.
To remove LAND ROVER and put DISCOVERY in its place, on a Disco that predates Land Rovers current mad and pretentious marketing ideas seems odd. You did ask!

(and yes, the radiator's been painted to match the pre-facelift car too!)

Mind you the evoque has Range Rover (don't know why)on the front yet they kept the Landrover letters on Fr2.
Then again a lot of people just call them landy's but wouldn't go a far as lettering that up

I think that their idea is that everything RANGE ROVER will be "prestige" (wine bar / Henley compatible), DISCOVERY will be "leisure" (YUCK!!) and the DEFENDER will be "utility" (i.e. the same as the others, but with tough looking murals and knobbly Action Man add ons ).
I will resist the label "leisure" to my dying breath!

All the USA D4's say Land Rover on bonnet not Discovery. The 2017 D5 say Discovery. I prefer Land Rover, keeps it classic.
If I get a D5 I would take out the Discovery on bonnet and replace with LR and take off the one on the trunk and leave it off, would also also take off the LR logos on rear sides of the body, too much branding.

When I test drove an FL2 before getting the D4, somebody had decided to put the RR lettering on his FL2..... Don't think he was going to fool anyone.
If anyone puts Discovery on I may make an offer for their unwanted letters..

For those with the 2014 onwards version, upgrade/repair kits are available for as little as £9.95 (although the stencils are hopeless!)

Interesting combination of "bonnet" and "trunk"!
It's funny that you should say that about the DISCOVERY "boot" lettering, I'm with you on that:
I'm sure many will cringe but I'm considering LANED ROVER ... Surname being Lane.
I lost several letters pelting across Europe in previous D4 so thought I'd do it whilst I was changing it from A D R VER..

I was tempted to put "LAN DROVER" on mine - from listening to people saying it, when I was at primary school, I thought that's what it was really called!
I like a RR that I knew in the 70's that was simply an "ANG OVER".
