Duratrac or GG AT 3

So 4 tyres needed in 255/55 r19, Duratrac or GG AT3, needs to be a jack of all trades. Heard good reports about the on road and off-road Duratrac's abilities, with good wear rates. But not heard much re the AT3. Thoughts greatly appreciated. Thumbs Up

I swapped my GGAT for Duratracs. I'm very happy and can concur with DG's views.

Great thank you, that echoes what others have said. I know it depends on driving style, if you tie a lot, roads etc, but how's the mileage on the duratracs?

You won't find as much info on GG AT 3 as they are a relatively new tyre. A third tyre to consider is the Pirelli ATR as there are good reports on that too - the forum was pretty much split down the middle between the Duratrac and ATR with good reports on both. I've ran 19" Duratracs on my MY12 D4 and was delighted with them, no more noticeable noise, little effect on MPG and very good on wear. So I ftted them to SWMBO's D4 MY15 on 19" rims. Then when I changed to a new Landmark D4 I put the AT3 on as the car came with 20" (Duratracs not available 20") and am very happy them too.

Duratracks all the way. Present set covered so far 24K miles with not much visible wear (lots of meat left so hoping to get at least 50K out of them)

AT3s seem to be more aggressive and might be noisier more fuel hungry IMHO

ATRs used to be on my old bus but too expensive for what they offer although very durable not as versatile

Having got both tyres on my two current vehicles I can say that are very much the same on noise and mpg - whilst I know the wear is very good on the Duratracs I have not had the AT3 for long enough to say the same yet.

I have just put on some Duratracs.

They are fantastic and really do make me feel a bit more comfortable when off-road.

Another member of the 4x4Community.co.za forum recently lost 3 of the new AT3 Grabbers when off-road so I question the durability of these.

It was put down to the sidewall being too soft on the Grabbers.

Some insurers may not be happy with a Q tyre on a D4.
I know one person had that issue, he had to get LTZ and while they are good, I'm sure he misses the Duratracs.

This is a debate I'm having, I've had duratracs for 4 years and 62k. Been a great tyre over the 2 sets I have run. Not sure to jump to the AT3 or stick with what I know.

Well SWMBO spoke to Flux today and a q rated tyre is fine on the policy, so I can get a deal for £125 fitted per corner for Duratracs so I think I will give them a punt!!! Thumbs Up

Looking to buy x4 Goodyear Duratracs for 255/55/19 wheels - delivery only no fitting.
Best price I can see online is £116 inc. delivery and VAT.
Any better deals out there anyone has seen please?

Thanks
