something to be concerned with?

Is this something to be concerned with? shall I report it to dealers for replacement before warranty runs out on the bus? as per picture attached, same state on both front shocks, the rears seem to be fine

Is that corrosion built up or just dirt. Do you ever have you suspension set to access height?

Corrosion pretty hard to remove. And yes sometimes it goes down to access but only sometimes. I guess it is surface only non impacting internals?

If the vehicle wasn't ever dropped to access height I could understand the build up of dirt, but if it's corrosion it may be best to get it checked out. I'm not 100% sure what type of sealing the LR suspension has but if it anything like conventional suspension seals the corrosion will damage them as it try's to move up and down through it. There might be someone else that can give further info on how the suspension set up works on these vehicles

The Air bag rolls over this part as it goes up & Down, does not slide. Seems a bit premature for corrosion given its age.

My D3 is like that but at least as an 06 its got a decent excuse.

The rust itself wont cause any harm, but if any of it peels away/drops off leaving a sharp edge it could damage the air bag.
Have to say air bags are real tough nowadays, 20 yrs ago truck ones used to explode of their own accord quite often!
